Beethoven 3 String Trios, Op. 9

The String Trios, Op. 9 were composed by Beethoven in 1797-98 and dedicated to his patron, Count Johann von Browne. Even if they are not seen as popular works in the composer's repertoire, they actually were significant milestones in his development as a musician. They can be interpreted as preparation for the upcoming quartets, and they all present a sonata form in the first movement, suggesting that Beethoven did not intend them to be light chamber pieces.
