Boris Vladimirovich Asafyev (Russian: Бори́с Влади́мирович Аса́фьев) was a Russian and Soviet composer, writer, musicologist, musical critic and one of founders of Soviet musicology. He is the dedicatee of Prokofiev's First Symphony.
