Mattia Vento was a composer, harpsichordist and Italian teacher. After studying music at the conservatory in his hometown of Santa Maria di Loreto, debuted in 1756 as an opera composer in Rome with the interlude Le deluse accortezze of Don Gianserio, followed a few years later from the opera La finta semplice (1759). In 1763 he was, however, the time of The Egyptian staged both in Venice and Milan.
