Jacques Blumenthal was a German pianist and composer. Born at Hamburg, where he studied. Later went to Vienna, where he studied in the Conservatory and afterward at the Conservatory of Paris with Halevy. He went to London in 1848, and settled there as a fashionable teacher and pianist to Queen Victoria.
