Giovanni Battista De Bellis was Born in Itri (today's province of Latina) probably around the years 1580-85. Lived and worked, at least between 1608 and 1614, in Naples as evidenced by the dedication of his first book 'madrigals for five voices (Naples, S. Bonino, 1608) and the Second Book of 'madrigals for five voices' (Naples, GB Gargano and L. Nucci, 1614)
