Eugène-Jean-Baptiste Anthiome was a French composer. He studied in the Conservatoire de Paris under Antoine Elwart, Francois Benoist and Michele Carafa. In 1861 he won the Second Gran Prix de Rome with his cantata Atala. From 1863 he taught at the Conservatoire, being later appointed piano professor, a position he held until 1901. Anthiome wrote many piano pieces, operettas and songs. He also wrote a piano method ( The Art of Piano Method for beginners , Paris 1880).
