Beethoven String Quintet in C major, Op. 29

Ludwig van Beethoven composed his String Quintet in C major, Op. 29, in 1801. It is a 'viola quintet' in the sense that it is scored for a standard string quartet plus an extra viola. This piece is Beethoven's only full-scale, original composition in the string quintet genre. as his other pieces of the genre are arrangements of older compositions.
