Johann Sebastian Bach wrote his BWV 156 cantata, called Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe (I am standing with one foot in the grave), around 1729. It is a work in six movements, in the key of B flat major, and scored for SATB chorus and soloists, oboe, strings, and continuo.
