Brahms Lullaby Op. 49, No. 4, Wiegenlied: Guten Abend, gute Nacht" (Good Evening, Good Night)

Johannes Brahms' Op. 49, No. 4, commonly known as "Wiegenlied" ("Lullaby"), is one of the most famous melodies in the classical music repertoire, composed in 1868. This piece, also known as "Brahms' Lullaby," has a simple, soothing melody and was originally written for voice and piano. The lyrics, based on a collection of German folk poems, speak of a mother's promise of all the joys that await her sleeping child.
