Boieldieu La dame blanche

The White Lady (fr.: La Dame Blanche) is an opéra-comique in three acts written by François-Adrien Boieldieu and with libretto by Eugène Scribe. It was first performed in Paris in 1825. The opera is based on multiple episodes from no less than five works of the Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott, including his novels The Monastery, Guy Mannering, and The Abbot. It introduces a series of characteristic romantic elements, including a lost heir, a mysterious castle, a hidden fortune, and a ghost.
