웨버 Euryanthe, Op. 81

Euryanthe is the title of an opera in 3 acts composed by Carl Maria von Weber in 1822, and first performed the following year in Vienna. Although it is one of Weber's most popular pieces, it is very rarely put on stage because of its weak libretto (which comes from the same author as Rosamunde, Schubert failed play). Only the overture is regularly played today. The opera itself is notable for parting with the singspiel tradition, in which spoken dialogue would interrumpt the musical scenes. It first appeared in print in 1866. Several important composers have written works derived from Euryanthe, such as Friedrich Kuhlau, Sigismond Thalberg, and Richard Wagner.
