Potpourri Spartiti Musicali

A Potpourri is a musical form of a structure similar to that of a medley, namely ABCDEF... and usually employed in light music. In a potpourri sections tend to be juxtaposed with no significant connective passages between them, creating a non repetitive musical discourse. The potpourri form is usually found in medleys of popular tunes, or in overtures to modern operas or musicals, where a continuous stream of themes and sections is presented.
