Jules Duprato Partitions

Jules-Laurent-Anarchasis Hinard said Jules Duprato was a French composer. Studied under Simon Leborne at the Paris Conservatoire, and won the first Grand Prix de Rome in 1848. After the success of his comic opera The Trovatelles, played at the Salle Favart in 1854. Everyone was expecting the development of a brilliant young talent. But this promising start was just a start, and the following works by Duprato (opera The Bride of Corinth The Goddess and Berger, The Cherry) quickly fell into oblivion. To reward his knowledge and merit, in 1871 he was appointed professor of harmony at the Paris Conservatoire. He has written several arrangements of La Marseillaise, many male choirs and symphonies. Antoine Simon was among his pupils. His grave in the cemetery of Montmartre is decorated with a medallion of the sculptor Gabriel Thomas.
