Dvořák Serenade for Strings, Op. 22

The Serenade for Strings in E major, Op. 22, is a five movement work composed by Antonín Dvořák in 1875. It is said that he completed the whole work in less than two weeks, choosing a small orchestra because it demanded less work on the orchestration. The score was published in 1877 in its piano duet version, and in 1879 in its original instrumentation. The Serenade remains one of Dvořák's most popular works to this day.
