Liszt Orpheus, S. 98

The performance helped celebrate the birthday of Weimar's Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, who was an amateur musician and a staunch supporter of Liszt at Weimar. It first appeared in print in 1856. Liszt dedicated the piece to Princess Carolyne zu Sayn-Wittgenstein.
