Hi, I am a student currently taking commissions, and would like to use this song as the background music for one of my pieces, would you be so kind to permit me to use this?

All recordings on Musopen are free to use and licensed as such. Most are licensed with some kind of creative commons license, but even those that are not have been placed under a differnet license that also allows you to use the recording. Each song on Musopen is also very old and as such in public domain, including any sheet music and lyrics.
