Carlo Filago, (or FIllago) (Rovigo, August 8, 1589 - Venice, October 23, 1644) was an Italian organist and composer. He a Luzzasco Luzzaschi student. Between 1601 and 1607 he left Rovigo and moved to Treviso, where he remained until 1623 and where he work as an organist at the Cathedral and the Church of the Hospital. In 1623 he left Treviso, also for continuous contrasts with Choirmaster Amadio Freddi, and moved to Venice, where he immediately became the first organist of the Chapel Marciana, and then led the immense Claudio Monteverdi. In 1631 he also became organist and choir director of the Basilica of Saints John and Paul, and in various other churches and institutions. He died in 1644, in poverty
