André-Frédéric Eler was a French composer. He was librarian at the Paris Conservatoire from its foundation (1795) and later a counterpoint teacher; he wrote vocal and wind pieces for the students as well as operas, orchestral and chamber music and patriotic works. His collection of 16th- and 17th-century vocal works is still extant.
