Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Violin Concerto no. 1 in B flat major, catalogued as K. 207 has been the subject of much study. Based on an analysis of both the handwriting and the manuscript paper on which the piece was writte, it has been suggested that the composition date was 1773. It is a bright work, full of brilliant virtuosistic passages, and bearing a connection to the Rondo in B flat major, K 269 (it has been suggested that the rondo was intended as a replacement for the last movement of the concerto).
