Karl Ludwig Drobisch was a German composer. Drobisch worked intensively with the mathematical determination of the pitch ratios and published numerous works on this problem. As a result, he took great influence on contemporary music. Since 1826 he was a music teacher, especially for music theory lessons, and 1837 Kapellmeister of the Protestant Church in Leipzig. He wrote numerous choral works, including a requiem and many masses.
