<p>Amelia Vitarelli, has emerged as one of the leading flutists and educators in the Bay Area. She currently performs extensively with Areon Flutes, an ensemble which she co-founded in 2005. Her 2007 NY debut with Areon Flutes at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall received brilliant reviews. Areon Flutes, a nonprofit organization, is committed to expanding the range and context of the flute chamber music. In 2008, they were awarded the Bronze Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.</p>
<p>Ms. Vitarelli, a staunch supporter of new music, has premiered numerous works including Mike Mower's Fictions at the 2004 National Flute Convention in Nashville, Chiang's Four Elements at the 2007 NFA Convention in New Mexico and she gave the US premier of Robert Dick's Gossip Cats are Dancing with Areon Flutes and Soloist Robert Dick at the 2009 NFA Convention in New York City.</p>
<p>Ms. Vitarelli is committed to sharing her artistic vision with today's young flutists.</p>
