Chanson Voice & Music Academy is committed to providing personalized, inclusive, quality education in the vocal and instrumental music arts, based on a strong foundation of good technique and thoughtful artistic direction, and in the recognition that anyone possessing the desire, can experience the joy and benefit of realizing their vocal and musical potentials – for love, for joy, health, community and peace.

Vision:

The first voice-focused community music school of its kind, CVMA is a professionally staffed music academy for students of all ages, styles, levels and backgrounds, offering unique, individualized curricula for those seeking a real world vocal and music education through study, practice, performance and mentorship. We endeavor to continue expanding as St. Paul’s premier community voice and music destination by providing substantive musical opportunities to all in our community regardless of age, means or level of experience.

Attracting some of the region’s best musical talent, Chanson Voice & Music Academy is a cooperative educational resource in the middle of the Twin Cities where teachers, students and community professionals find exciting and enriching opportunities for study, employment, partnerships and creative exploration through musical and performance collaborations.

With a robust program of classes, workshops, ensembles, concerts, events, scholarships, mentorships, outreach programming, and by partnering with other schools, churches, and arts and community organizations, we hope to continue fulfilling our mission of bettering the lives of all in our communities through music, regardless of age, demographic, style or means.

Boasting 18 world-class instructors of the classical and contemporary vocal and musical arts, CVMA presently offers an ever-expanding curriculum of voice, piano, guitar, cello, violin, viola, fiddle, drums, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, harmonica and Music Together® Early Childhood Classes, the Lyrebird Youth and Young Women’s Choirs, as well as classes in contemporary songwriting, classical composition, music theory, sightsinging, ear training and group workshops, including the director, Diana Grasselli’s own vocal method, The Vertical Voice® Vocal Training Method.
