Dr. Eun Hwan Bai

Eun Hwan Bai was Born in March 21, 1961 in Seoul, Korea. Since 1986 he has been a U.S. citizen. He is Married to Kyung Hee Bai. They have two children, Samuel and Bless. Dr. Eun Hwan Bai received his Doctor of Musical Arts from Juilliard School in 1987. Also Include B.M,(1983),M.M(1984) from Juilliard School (Double major; violin and viola) His teachers include Dorothy DeLay, William Lincer, Jeans Ellerman, Eudice Shapiro, Gorge Kast, Jae Hun Lee, Byung Ho Bai, Suk Chol Park. Dr. Eun Hwan Bai has been the director of CTS Concert weekly Series since 2010. He has also been the director of Del Gesu String Chamber since 2007. A few of his occupations in the past include: President, Seoul Art High Alumni Association of Southern California; Leader & Concertmaster at Korean Festival Ensemble; Concertmaster at KBS Symphony Orchestra; Professor at Eastern Kentucky University in U.S.A; Arlington Trio; Professor at Konkuk University in Seoul; and Kuhmo Asiana String Quartet. Over the years, Dr.Bai has won many prizes including the Juilliard Concerto Competition(s) performing Bartok, and W. Schuman viola Concertos; Aspen Concerto Competition, performing Walton viola Concerto; 1st prize at Coleman Chamber Music Competition (1st violin Korish Quartet); 1st prize at Los Angeles Repertoire Orchestra Competition; grand prize at Seoul Education University competition; 1st prize at Korea Times competition; 1st prize at E-Hwa University Competition. His recordings include: Complete Paganini 24 Caprices on Violin and Viola (Live, Sound Hill), Bela Bartok Violin Concerto and Viola Concerto (Deluxe), Ysaye complete 6 sonatas (live video), CD Rom; Violin Story (Deluxe), Paganini: Violin Concerto No.1 (SKC), W. He is also planning to perform Schuman Viola concerto in 2015 as Korea's 70th independence memorial concert at Pan Mun Jum(DMZ Military Defense Line).
