Samuel Prowse Warren was a Canadian organist, composer and music teacher. He was the son of the organ builder Samuel Russell Warren and brother of the organ builder Charles Sumner Warren, he received at the age of eleven his first organ lessons and worked as an organist at the American Presbyterian Church in Montreal. In 1861 he went to Berlin, where he was a pupil of Carl August Haupt, Gustav Schumann and Paul Wieprecht.
