Giuseppe Colombi Sheet Music

  • Born: 1634
  • Died: 1694
  • Birthplace: Modena, Italy ?

Giuseppe Colombi was an Italian musician. We do not know precisely with whom he studied: it can only be assumed that his teacher was the most notable composer and violinist in Modena during his adolescence, M. Uccellini, choirmaster of the cathedral and director of the court concerts from 1647 to 1665. In 1673 Giuseppe became "chief of the concert instrument", and in 1674 sottomaestro of the court chapel, a position he held until his death. He composed almost exclusively instrumental music (his only vocal music are three cantatas)
