Emma Louise Ashford Sheet Music

  • Born: 27th March 1850
  • Died: 22nd September 1930
  • Birthplace: Newark, Delaware, USA

Emma Louise Ashford's father was a music teacher, and her mother had a beautiful soprano voice. She could sing from childhood, even before she could speak plainly, and music was an integral part of her home life. When she was three years old, she sang a solo at a charity concert; by age five, she began to extemporize alto parts to songs and hymns. At age eight, she joined the church choir and the glee club, and was said to be the best sight reader in both.
