Franz Schubert published his Three Marches Militaires, D. 733 (also known as Op. 51), in 1826. They are pieces for piano four hands in the form of marches, all with a central trio leading to a reprise of the main theme. The first march, in the key of D major, is one of Schubert most famous melodies, and it has been arranged for many ensembles.
