The Nocturnes, Op. 62, are some of Fréderic Chopin's latest works. They were published in 1846 and dedicated to Mdlle. R. de Konneritz. The Nocturne no. 2 in E major showcases a Lento, solemn melody that contrasts heavily with the agitato middle section. The music becomes convulse and tense only to subside in the recapitulation, giving way to the main melody again.
