Beethoven König Stephan, Op. 117

Ludwig van Beethoven composed King Stephen, Op. 117, in 1811. It is a commemorative work, including an overture in the key of E flat major, and other nine vocal numbers which are very rarely heard nowadays. The title refers to King Stephen I, founder of the kingdom of Hungary in the year 1000.
