Bach Aria variata in A minor, BWV 989

This work, nicknamed ''alla maniera Italiana'' (in the Italian Manner), presents the main theme as a simple chorale, drawing the variations from the harmonic stratucture. Although the first appearance of the theme is simple in nature, the variations are virtuoso in technique.
