Organ Symphony no. 9, Op. 70 'Gothique'

Charles-Marie Widor composed his Organ Symphony no. 9, Op. 70 'Gothique' between the years 1894 and 1895. It is a work in four movements in the key of C minor. It was premiered in 1895, and it first appeared in print that same year. Though Widor wrote music for a great variety of ensembles, only his organ works are regularly played today, of which his Organ Symphonies are the most notable.
