Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut, BWV 199 (My heart is bathed in blood) is a Church cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was composed in Weimar in 1714, and its first performance was on August 12, 1714 in Weimar. The lyrics of the cantata were written by Georg Christian Lehms (Mvts. 1-5) and Johann Heermann (Mvt. 6). Bach revised the work for later performances, leading to three different editions in the Neue Bach-Ausgabe.
