Muzio Clementi's Sonatas, Op. 36 (usually called Sonatinas) are a regular feature in the curriculum of most piano students. They were originally published in 1797, intended as a progressive teaching tool, with the difficulty increasing with each sonatina that passes. The set focuses on developing the basic repertoire of piano skills.
