Symphony no. 34 in D minor, Hob. I:34

Joseph Haydn composed his Symphony no. 34 (listed as I 34 in the Hoboken catalogue) in 1765. It is a work in four movements, molded after the then-archaic Sonata da Chiesa pattern of slow-quick-slow (minuet)-quick. It is also an homotonal work (the first movement is in D minor and tremaining in D major). It is scored for two oboes, bassoon, two horns, strings and continuo.
