Johannes Brahms completed his Violin Sonata no. 2 in A major, Op. 100, in 1886. It is usually called 'Thun', or 'Meistersinger' and it is the shortest yet most difficult of his three violin Sonatas. It consists of three movements, with an average performance time of 20 minutes.
