Violin Sonata no. 1, Op. 13

Fauré wrote his Violin Sonata, op. 13 in 1875. It was first performed two years later and dedicated to Monsieur Paul Viardot. Premiered at the Société Nationale with great success, it marked a turning-point in his composing career at the age of 31.
