Andrea Stefano Fioré was an Italian composer of the late Baroque. He was first taught music by his father Angelo Maria Fiore, Giovanni Paolo Colonna and a priest named Giorgio Boni. At the age of 13 years Fioré published his first works, a collection of 12 trio sonatas, which he dedicated to Viktor Amadeus II., Prince of Savoy and Prince of Piedmont. 1697 he was admitted with his father in the Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna. In the period 1703-1705 he studied with Giovanni Battista Somis, on account of the Turin court, and with Arcangelo Corelli in Rome. In 1707 Fiore received the post of Kapellmeister in Turin, which he held until his death. During this time he composed many operas that were performed mostly at the "Teatro Regio Ducal." During the period 1704-1714, as the Turin theater was closed, Fiore could perform several operas in other cities, such as Milan and Vienna, where he worked with Antonio Caldara and Francesco Gasparini. Johann Joachim Quantz, who met him in 1726 in Turin, was one of his admirers.
