Musette de cour

Musette de cour Spartiti Musicali

The baroque musette, sometimes called musette de cour, is an instrument of the bagpipe family, with a tone similar to that of the oboe. It was popular during the 18th century, and although it was mostly confined to France, a considerable amount of music was written for it. It was considered both an instrument for amateurs and professionals, so the musette repertoire includes everything from popular tunes transcriptions to advanced music by composers such as Rameau or Naudot.
