Symphony no. 1 in D major, D. 82

Franz Schubert wrote his Symphony no. 1 in D major, D. 82, in 1813, when he was only sixteen years old. It is an impressive work for such a young composer, with clear influences by Haydn and Beethoven. It is scored for flute, two oboes, two clarinets in A, two bassoons, two horns in D, two trumpets in D, timpani, and strings. It is a work in four minutes, and it lasts about twenty-five minutes.
