Berlioz Le corsaire Overture, H 101

The Corsair (le Corsaire) is a concert overture by Berlioz. Composed while he was on holiday in nice in August 1844, it was first performed under the title The tower of Nice (la tour de Nice) in 1845. It was then renamed The red rover (after J. F. Cooper's novel of the same name) and finally the Corsair (suggesting Byron's poem The Corsair).
