Theodorus Hendricus Hubertus Verhey was a Dutch pianist and composer. He get his first music lesson with his father. Then he studied at the music school in Rotterdam and the Royal School of Music in The Hague in piano, cello, music theory and composition. He studied composition with Woldemar Bargiel in Rotterdam, a step-brother of Clara Schumann and therefore a representative of musicians such as Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Joseph Joachim.
