Pierre Colin was a French composer. Master of the choristers (c 1539-61) and organist (1562- c 1565) at St Lazarus Cathedral, Autun, he was a leading representative of the generation of composers after Josquin. His 36 imitative motets are among his best works, showing his concern for textual clarity. Most of his 26 masses are of the parody type; he also wrote ten Magnificats and eight chansons.
