Paul Buttner was a German choral conductor , music critic and composer of the late Romantic period. Büttner is one of the last great symphonist in the direct successor of Anton Bruckner , Johannes Brahms and his teacher mentioned Draeseke. He wrote vocal works, chamber music and symphonic works. In his music you can also the influence of Richard Wagner heard. His most important compositions are his four symphonies .
