Otto Winter-Hjelm was a Norwegian composer, organist, conductor and music critic. Winter Helmet was a leading driving force in Norwegian music in the late 1800s. He created a music school in 1864 and started and ran a music academy in Christiania with Edvard Grieg in 1866. The Academy was closed when Grieg traveled to Italy in 1869.
