Joseph Tacet was an English flutist and composer of solos, sonatas, concerti and much other flute music. He and Pietro Grassi Florio were perheps the two most famous flautists in England in the second half of the eighteenth century. It was also claimed at one time that Tacet was the inventor of several keys for the improvement of the old flute but this proved to be erroneous.
