Josef Zöhrer

Josef Zöhrer, Slovenian conductor, pedagogue and composer of Austrian descent. In 1860 he finished his studies in piano, cello and composition at the Vienna Conservatory and began performing as a pianist. Then he was a theater bandmaster in Trieste, and from 1855-1883 teacher at the School of Music Philharmonic Society in Ljubljana and head of its Assembly from 1883-1912.
