François Combelle was a Saxophonist with the Garde républicaine, and instrument tester for Selmer. May have premiered Debussy's Rhapsodie pour Orchestre et Saxophone ("The saxophonist is not known for sure but probably was either Louis Mayeur or Francois Combelle", from article by J. Blum.) A teacher of Marcel Mule. Father of Alix Combelle (1912–1978)
