Carlo Francesco Chabran was an important Italian violinist and composer. In 1747 he joined the royal chapel of the king of Sardinia. In 1751 he moved to Paris where he played in the Concert Spirituel. In this city he published a collection of sonatas and a collection of concerts, both for violin.
