(Johann) Christian Gottlieb Scheidler was a German musician and composer. Little is known about his origins and his resume. He worked as a cellist and bassoonist at various royal courts, he was known above all by his playing of the lute and guitar. He is regarded as one of the last exponents of the sounds on the one hand and one of the first major representative of the guitar playing on the other.
