Charles-Antoine Branche was a French Violinist and composer. In 1748 he was concertmaster of the Comédie-French, where he recruited and directed the musicians and composed the music needed for the performances. In 1748, he published his first book of sonatas. He resigned in 1765 and committed a lawsuit against the French Comedy.
